WunderKeys®
Group Lessons
(ages 3-5)

The WunderKeys® curriculum is a story based, pre-reading level piano curriculum geared toward ages 3-5. Each 30-minute weekly group lesson will have no more than four participants per class.

During WunderKeys group lessons children and their parents will learn music theory concepts through the use of stories and finger puppets. The development of piano technique will be addressed through exercises put forth by the stories presented within the Wunderkeys® curriculum. Through repetition and expansion of previous exercises, each student is guided towards the eventual development of song-playing.

Within our WunderKeys® group lessons, opportunities will be provided for students to develop fine-motor skills, pincher grasp, and hand-eye coordination. We will also offer opportunities for students to create their own “compositions,” in duet settings with their teacher and with each other in pairs or groups. The experience aims to develop imagination, creativity, discovery, and agency through an early engagement with the compositional process.

Appropriate for the 3-5 age group, we also offer opportunities for movement throughout the class in an organized fashion. Such opportunities include standing versus sitting at the piano, kinesthetic opportunities for creation and sound-development and more. This class moves quickly from one exercise to the next to ensure that students remain engaged and participatory throughout the class.
